Raindance Project Skills Lab - resources

Here’s some resources and useful links to some of the things I’ve talked about during this lab-

Projects I’ve worked on that I’ll have mentioned at various points as examples.

Emotions wheel - Great for if you’re rubbish at figuring out what the correct word is for the emotion you mean (like I am)

Story themes 101 - Things to think about when figuring out the story and theme behind the plot of your story (these are probably ideas you’ve thought a bit about already but it’s good to know how to explain them to someone else)

VIDEOS

Inside the score - A series following two composers writing for a short film

Composer Coffee Break - a series by Sherlock composer Michael Price interviewing loads of composers during lockdown

Hans Zimmer composer round table - if you want to hear what it’s like in the Zimmerland world of film music

BOOKS

Creativity Inc - really great ideas about feedback

Into the Woods - good for knowing about story theory (you probably already know all of this!)

Composer Diversity - a blog post I did a while ago with some ideas of what you can get involved in to promote this.

If you’ve got any questions or things you’d like to know more about, I’m super happy to answer them too! - I’m at tim@timsteemson.com

Best wishes
